Erin McKelle
Erin McKelle is an activist, writer, consultant, and social media expert. Motivated to create social change, she has worked for a variety of non-profit and grassroots organizations, including Scenarios USA, The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, Adios Barbie, The F Bomb, BACHE (Bay Area Communities for Health Education) and The Sierra Club. She is also an avid blogger who has created several popular blogging platforms, including Fearless Feminism, a popular feminist Tumblr, and also contributes to national publications, such as Everyday Feminism, Fearless Press, Sex, Etc., The Huffington Postand RH Reality Check. She is currently working as the Communications Coordinator of the YTH Initiative at ETR, by day and moonlighting as an essay writer digital strategist by night.
Erin is a graduate of Ohio University, holding a degree in Women and Gender Studies. Throughout her college career she was involved in feminist activism both and off-campus, as she co-founded the I Will End Sexual Violence campaign, was a member of the SPARK movement, lead communications Ohio University’s LGBT center, spearheaded the social media strategy of the school’s suicide prevention program Bobcats Who Care, and was a guest lecturer at several of the school’s events. She has been recognized as a leader through her memberships on the Youth Advisory Board at YTH on the board of directors at Stop Street Harassment, and as a Youth Fellow with the Sierra Club. In addition, Erin has spoken about her work at many national conferences, including being a keynote speaker at the National Sexual Assault Conference in 2014 and the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence Annual Conference in 2013 and serves on the RAINN speaker’s bureau.
